So I haven't blogged in what seems like forever. It's one of those things that every night that I lye tossing and turning in my bed, sleepless because my head is overflowing with things, I think "hmmm...maybe I should blog" then I think well I will probably start blogging, get way to tired, and then not want to finish. However tonight I made a stand against my conscience and I did it anyway. And although I know I will some to regret this in the morning it feels almost liberating. I have not been sleeping lately. No matter what I do I can't sleep. It's like when ever I lay my head down, my brain kicks into overdrive and every little thing that could possibly stress me out comes into my brain and keeps me awake until my body is so sleep deprived I fall asleep for a few non-restful hours of sleep and start my day again. I just don't know why, I have been stressing about school because it's expensive and I really don't want a ton of debt hanging over my head and I don't even have any clue what I want to do with my life other than stay home with my kids but everyone keeps telling me I need to go to school just in case anything ever happens to Andy and I understand this but I have no clue what I want to do to spend that much money on! AHH! And then also there is the wedding and my parents keep stressing out about cost and I can not for the life of me, no matter how many times I try and tell them this, get it through their thick skulls that I don't care what we do for a reception. I could care less if we had string cheese and pop-tarts, all I want is to be married to the man God has given to me that I love very much. But their like oh but it's the thank you to people who come and give you gifts and I get that but what that day is really about is God bringing two people together. again AHH! I feel like if I made a point to do this everyday, just empty my thoughts, they wouldn't get so pent up and I would maybe be able to get some sleep again, or idk.
On a more positive note! Youth Camp is just about 1 week away and I could not be more excited to just hang out with these kids that are so in love with Jesus and it is just going to be fantastic. I never knew that kids that I haven't known all that long could mean so much to be. It has really helped me think about how my walk with Jesus is and continue to grow knowing that I was put in a position to lead these kids and they like look up to me and talk to me about their problems and trust me and ask me to pray for them. It is just fantastic. And God is so cool and I really wish that these are the things my mind would let me focus on at night and sleep peacefully rather than taking the very silly unimportant things and making my mind restless.
Also my house currently smells like burnt popcorn. This would be because around approximately 4pm I decided I was in the mood for some Homestyle Popsecret popcorn. So I grabbed a bag, placed it in the microwave, hit the "popcorn" button on the microwave, and headed outside to grab the laundry off the laundry line. As Andy walked into the house I looked into the window and saw him go to the fridge, then the microwave area, then go back outside. Assuming he was going to the garage to sit and talk with Dad and Jim (as he does on so many afternoons) I thought nothing of it and continued getting my laundry. A few seconds later Andy comes over to the clothes line and says "Did you make popcorn" I replied "Yeah why?" He then proceeded to tell me about how when he came up the stair he smelled an awful smell and realized the bag of popcorn was nearly on fire. There was a charred unrecognizable block inside the popcorn bag. Apparently you cannot leave popcorn in the microwave unattended...who knew? Then a few hours later I put corn on the stove and went outside to join the family on the deck. My dad went in and out of the house about 4 time so I assumed he had been going back and forth and checking the corn...well he hadn't been and that burned too. So just as the burned popcorn smell was going away the corn burned and re-stank the entire house. So currently my house smells like an odd mixture of burnt popcorn, French Vanilla, Christmas Cookie, and Cinnamon.
So now that I feel as though I have written an entire novel I am going to try and get some much needed sleep before my meeting at work tomorrow.
Night Night.
